What's up?!!!
This is the deal.

My car has around 125,000 miles and I want to rebuild the engine.

I do not want to go turbo and I will like to get all the potential juice that I can out the little 420A.

While; I was researching to rebuild the bottom end in Howell, I saw this short block for sale.

QUESTIONS:

What is the difference between the block that has long rod and the other one? (obvious is the rod but what else is what i meant)
What are the pros and cons? Is the long rod going to hit the head?
Do they use the same piston? Is the compression going to be higher?

About the pistons what is that number .20 (BORE SIZE)
What is that for? Is .030 inch better or .040 inch???
In what that is going to help me?

I am planning to go high compression and maybe stroke to 2.2L. BTW the top head of the car was melt.

So, please help me about it.:D

Any opinion about rebuild or other stuffs are welcome.

Thanks in advance. :thumb:

the piston is shorter and the rods are longer. Give you more dwell time at top dead center. IF your going to buy a kit from there id suggest getting one with the long rods.

As for as the block goes the pistons rods and crank are blueprinted and balanced and everything internal is installed for you. Much easier than doing it yourself but it also cost alot more.

I Just finished my motor i put forged rods and pistons with higher compression got my head milled and p&p also balanced and blueprinted cost me $2,500 i did more stuff along with that but too much too list runs great just need to break it in.
