my m100 came in this weekend. i loaded up the software and decided to see where i was at with my stock 12lbs (50trim). my safc was set -27 3000rpm and -36 from 4000 - 7000rpm. i had a buddy watch'n knock, tima and rpm, and at about 3500 i had 20 counts of knock, increasing as rpms got higher. my 02 wideband was reading 11.2:1, give or take. after about an hour worth of tuning, we richened her up till the knock went to 0, which put my afc -21 from 3000-7000, but my afr read 10.0:1; my car pulled nor better or worse. we decided to increase the boost to 20 psi and do another 3rd gear pull. i hit started knocking at 3000rpm, and hit 40 counts by 5500 at which my car started hesitating really bad. i decided to test for a boost leak. with about 8psi i heard a hissing around my throttle body, but could not figure out where it was coming from. i decided i wasnt getting any where so i set my boost back to 12 and returned my fuel settings to what they were before i started adjusting them.

this is my first time tuning, and im not sure what to do. should my afr be that rich in order to eliminate knock? could anyone w/a similar set up let me know what their afc settings are? im going to perform another boost leak test w/soapy water to try and pin point where the noise is coming from. any help or suggestions, thanks

If your running 720cc, and you hit 10.0:1 and ZERO counts of knock- then I would say whatever you did, you did something right!!! thats a pretty good tune on my watch...

the richest my uego will read is 10.0:1...so im not sure if its really richer. i always thought you should be around 11.0:1 to 11.5:1? i dont know...is it normal to take my settings all the way to -21%? i thought they should be around the -30's

With those 720cc injectors and a SAFC for tuning it's possible you have way to much timing for your engine and your having to add fuel to keep the knock under control.

timing as in my base timing is off?? could i be able to tell off my TIMA?
