If you are getting no knock at 17 psi, but knock if you raise the boost, then you are probably seeing real knock, not phantom knock.

I'm sure you have heard all the suggestions, but ...

Bigger intercooler/more air flow
Check A/F mixture
More octane
Retard timing

Ive been getting knock alot lately and I think it is the cause of my cars studdering problem, its like if I let the boost come on slowly and dont floor it right away its all good but If I floor it it studders and the whole car just doesnt go faster basically. This is on only about 14-15lbs. on my Big 16G I have a logger and have logged during this and everything seems good but one thing I noticed is that the MAS Hz reading goes to like 1500 or more and when that happends knock occurs. What can I do to prevent MAS override? I already removed the lower honey comb and I dont really have any money to get a new MAS, But if its the only way I probably could swing it.

what about when you switch to a 1st gen bottom end, what do you do about the knock sensor?......should i just remove it, or do i need to drill and tap the sensor into the block.....

oh yeah.....another thing, i've had my 90 six bolt sitting on a stand in my living room, and after close scrutiniztion, there is no place for a knock sensor....which makes sense since the car is not obd II, so again, does anyone have any experience with this, because i can not find a hole for the ks to go into, which is why i asked about drillng and tapping, i'm just trying to learn you know.....:D

1g blocks do have knock sensors. They are located on the firewall side of the block, almost dead center of the block. keep looking, or refer to a 1g manual, it's there.
