Finally got the job done. Took 15 hours of fabricating fun. I have a question for other owners of the garrett ball bearing turbos. Are these things noisy even while cruising?? Best way I can describe the sound is being in a wind tunnel. Makes me think my wheel bearings are going out but then again I just replaced those and the noise sometimes continues even while stopped after a hard pull. Just curious if this is normal. Like a small tornado under the hood noise. Pictures of the setup are in my gallery. Thanks.

i've seen big turbos that wind down and sound like jet aircraft engines.

Something aint right then cause it sounds like wheel bearings. I can only assume its sucking alot of air through the filter which is resonating off of the frame that the intake tube is mounted to. Its always something with these cars. Ive checked and rechecked everything 4 times. Sounds like Im in the cockpit of a jet even while cruising.

Dont get me wrong the sound is amazing Im just not used to it. I was just curious if its normal thats all. I guess if something is broken or going to break Ill just tough it out till it does. ;)

there is a car at my good friends shop here that has a 2.4 with a t66 on it. Even just sitting in the parking lot the damn thing sounds like a ####ing airliner. Let alone on the street, once you start to give it gas you hear that mother comming for a while it has got to be the loudest turbo I have ever heard, very intimidating not very good for keepign attention away from the cops.

When the L2Rs first came out a lot of the guys were wondering about noises like this. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's just your BB turbo... Does the noise continue slightly after the car is shut off?

Turned out it was a bad set of wheel bearings. I pressed in some brand new ones and she drives smooth as silk. I give it one month before something else on the car breaks. This turbo is crazy it like theres nothing until that damn wastegate opens up and then all four tires break loose and the fun begins. I give it two thumbs up. ;)

Went out this morning and noticed one of my brand new tires is flat. Will this fix or repair daily program ever stop?

Bad valve stem. Flat tire issue fixed. Up and running until the next breakdown! Fast mo fo too :) 2.4 liters and a 60 trim, who woulda thought. :thumb:
