Hey fellas,
Before everyone ignites the flamethrowers on buying a "JDM" motor, please note that I am not some Hondaboy believing in the hype that all things labeled JDM are superior. My car has been down for about 2 years now, its go fast goodies have been sold, and it is getting returned to stock form in order for a quick sale. For $1200 complete, I couldn't pass up a complete 7 bolt (going into a 99gst) that showed 165 compression across all four. Figuring it would save me time and money on just dropping in another 7 bolt, I've made my decision, already have the motor, and will be dropping it shortly. Please keep the "shoulda went 6bolt...JDM is a waste of money, etc.." comments to yourselves. :shhh: OK that being said, here's the questions...

It's been a while since I've even popped the hood on my dsm, or any dsm for that matter. As memory serves me correctly, my CAS should be located on the passanger side of the intake cam should it not? (my dsm currenly is motorless, so I can't just walk outside an reference) The motor I picked up is from a what I'm assuming is the RVR. Judging by its td04hl turbo, I'm assuming it was mated to an auto trans, thus elimintaing the possibility of it being from an evo. On the RVR 4g63 where I belive the CAS is supposed to be is blocked off completely by something that looks to be a grommet of somesort, just made of a hard material. So where do I plug the harness to?

If any of you guys have done the rvr swap, have you found it easier to simply swap on your usdm intake manifolds? The throttle body cable is in a different location, as well as the ports on the throttle body and on the intake manifold itself seems to be different.

I've sold my sbr big 28, sold my fp green, and my stock t25 blew to pieces. In the sake of saving money I am considering keeping the 13g on there. (Like I said the car is returning to near stock in order to sell it.) The motor has blue top injectors (450cc I believe) what sort of boost should I be running safely? I'm leaving in the 255hp pump and the s-afc. I'm thinking I can probably tune it to run decently at 14psi..opinions??? If anyone has pictures of the custom I/C piping made or bought in order to get it to mate to the stock USDM side mount that'd be awesome.

I'll be posting as I start the swap with further questions I'm sure. btw if anyone has a diagram on how every single vacuum line is supposed to be run on a stock 2gb dsm that'd be awesome, as mine have been off for sometime now. Wish me luck guys, and thanks in advance for the help!

Its probably like on the 95/96 the CAS is behind the intake cam gear, not on the passenger side.

This is exactly why I feel that the DSM community is the best there is. Thanks for the quick responses, the vacuum diagram is extremely helpful. It does appear to be set up like the 2ga CAS. Is this going to make a differnce in the way my 2gb ECU reads the input? Should I just extend my harness for the CAS in order to get it to mate up to it on the driver's side of the RVR motor? Or should I swap in my old CAS where it originally was on my USDM 7bolt? Thanks again guys!
