jdm 6-bolt motor swap

the 97 gsx im lookin at says that it has a jdm 6 bolt motor swap done. What does this mean? what size is the engine then? or is it just a stock motor swap?

It's just a 6 bolt swap. There are minor differences between the jdm and usdm engines. Most of which were probably converted to usdm during the swap.

The single difference in the motors is the presence of the Cyclone intake manifold on the JDM. It has a dual-runner design that increases low-end torque.

It means that the previous owner had taken out his old motor and opted to put in the older generation turbo motor. 7 bolts came in the 92.6-99's, and the 6 bolts came in the 90-92.5's. He/she probably couldn't find a good 6 bolt here in America so they probably just found one from Japan Direct or somewhere the sells japanese motors and put that in.
