Langley,
Where exactly are the front and rear jacking points on the 1g FWD's? And, can you damage the CV boots by jacking up the front one side at a time? Probably not but I am not sure.

the jackpoints are on the body, under the front doors directly behind the wheel, on the back their infront of the wheel, toward the front of the car.

I hate putting jack stands behind the motor of any car. I use the frame-rail in front of the wheels, but I have to extend my jackstands almost all the way up to get to the rails.

I just don't think that hanging 1000lbs worth of metal off the end of two frame rails is a good idea. These cars aren't very rigid, so I'm assuming it will flex the frame.

isn't the engine held in by the same things whether the car is on the ground or jacked up? I believe it is. It would be weird if when you jack it up, the engine mounts suddenly won't hold the engine.

when i jack mine up i set the stands under the mounting points for the control arms. it seems like thats the sturdiest place on the whole car. just make sure its under the bolt that goes through the arm, the rest of the metal on mine doesnt seem strong enough to me.
