Is This Pressure Plate New or Used?

I recently bought a new pressure plate from one of the vendors here on dsmtuners, and when i got it, this is what it looked like. I'm just curious if everyone else's looked like this when they bought theirs new? It has an overspray of yellow paint, scorned where it would be bolted, and severe markings where the bearing would be on both sides, and the surface is scratched and marked as well. The packaged was loose, but can be because of its weight and movement during shipment, which is what this company told me, but i don't believe that a new pp would look like this, as anyone with plastic and a heater gun could easily repackage this product.

Thats what mine looked on the fingers as well...not sure why. Mine was still bolted to the package and all the surfaces looked brand new. Either we both had a fluke or they are supposed to be like that.

the fingers look like that from the hardening/machining process. all the clutch kits i've seen have looked like that.
