I'm getting ready to tear into my gsx and was wondering if I could move the MAS in between the bov and tb instead of buying a GM MAS & translator? My buddy and I were discussing it and we are curious as to whether or not it will function properly. If it won't work could you please explain or point me to a thread.
Thanks, James.

The stock airflow meter is a karman vortex meter, meaning that it meters vorteces caused by the honeycombs, and therefore if it was installed inside the IC piping, with pressure fluctuations as well as heat as others mentioned, it wouldnt meter properly. The GM sensor is able to be installed in that way, because it is a hotwire sensor, and simply requires the cooling properties of air on a heated wire to meter the air.

Thanks you guys, Adam and I were discussing that vacuum/pressure thing but I didn't want to sound like a complete tool if we were wrong. I'm still trying to get used to the whole MAS system. Damn, DSM's would be perfect if they hadn't installed those MAS setups. Oh well, when life gives you lemons throw them away and drink vodka. :p :dsm: :thumb:
