hey, my right tire ate half of my inner-mudshield-plastic-thing on my 98 gst. The SMIC is now exposed a little to whatever the tire wants to fling at it. Is this gonna be a problem? Please get back to me asap thanks -Matt

I know some people who have removed the whole thing intentionally without any problems. But i am always a believer of "it was there for a reason".
But it's nothing to worry about.

When I got my car, the splash guard wasnt there for the front left tire. I ven driving in the rain and etc for several months now and its fine. Anyone know where i can get a spare? I want to put it on cause it dosent look so good without it. And who knows itll prolly protect the inside.

I figured it would be ok, I just wanted someone else to reassure me. Here's an idea, would spraying ice water on your IC help with performance at all. It wouldnt take too much work to put ice and water in your windshield washer fluid resivour and redirect the windshield squirter hose to the front of the car. Would this be worth the effort? I have to cap off that hose anyways when I get my CF hood on tuesday. Thanks again! -Matt

I'm thinkin the ice would melt pretty fast, and the water wouldn't be cold after a few minutes of running, damn DSM's... so hot :(

2g eclipse washer resivours are in the "trunk" under the spare tire, not in the engine bay. So melting ice shouldnt be a problem...

as long as you are conciencous about having the aft end of the smic exposed and drive accordingly you will be fine.

this means no running down gravel roads at anything over a crawl.

I have not had either side pass or driver on in 3 and a 1/2 years and no problems, but you do have to be careful not to run over trash on the right side of the car that might get slung into it.

and yes it does make a seat of the pants difference, especially in stop and go driving.

umm... are you being sarcastic about the ice water making a difference? Im not trying tp be mean or anything, but if its worth my time then im planning on doin it. I was thinking it could be used at the track while waiting between runs. Im sure someone had to have tried it. -Matt
