My car is N/T so I can't really compare to similar threads but I am not sure if my fuel pump is bad and needs replacing.
My car will start up but die seconds later unless I give it gas, then it dies when I let off the gas. I checked the pressure at the shreader valve on the fuel rail and the fuel just barley squirted out after letting the pump turn on with the key to ON, then I checked the fuel lined right on top of the fuel pump by removing the lines and the fuel just dripped out.
Is there any way I can test something to be sure what the problem is?

I have replaced my fuel filter already thinking that could be where it could be getting clogged but that did not change the pressure at the rail or the fact that it dies, any voltage test or checking that I can do to troubleshoot the hole fuel system?

If it will run when you give it gas than the fuel pump is pumping. This seems more like it could be an issue with the throttle body or possibly a map sensor. Is the check engine light on? When you are holding the gas getting the car to run does it appear to run smooth, or does it run rough?

Im going to change my fuel filter myself.. Im in the middle of a throttle body revamp.. The battery, pipes, and throttle body are off.. I read the how to change a fuel filter on the plymouth site..

Can I just take my gas cap off and unplug the fuel pump without running the car to take out the old filter? i would have to put everything back together and then dissemble just to start the car.. can I just put the lines in a bucket and let them drain into that?

thanks

yes I do have a CEL on but I think it has something to do with fuel because there was almost no pressure in the system and when I turn the key to ON the fuel pump takes about 5 seconds to finally build pressure and when I hold the gas to keep it running the car throttle just feels different
