So I thought I had a 96.5 eclipse rs but apparently not. When I did the fuel rail awhile ago I saw I had a FPR in the rear by the gas tank. This was weird because the fuel rail was from a 95. Although the return line was plugged (and leaking) so I figured the PO just installed the wrong rail sometime. So I put a 96 fuel rail on and that was that.

Now I am doing a rebuild on the car I ordered the wrong main bearings! I ordered the 96.5-99 ones and it turns out I guess my car is a 95. But if it is a 95 what is with the FPR in the rear?

Is my car like a mix of 95 and 96.5 or something?

ive heard about mitsubishi doing that with other DSMs before... maybe it was an early 96... and they were using what was left of the 95 stock for parts???
