98spydert said: It's also more accurate to have the sensor right before the throttle body.

98spydert, why would you think that those who bad mouth it can't calibrate it? I don't want to spend the time claibrating it...frankly, if you have a WB02 and some type of BAR sensor (whether GM 3BAR, AEM, MSD, etc.) and leave the GM MAFT at zeroes, keeping the AFR in check and laying down the numbers is all that really matters... :thumb:

That's why I called the actual MAF-t a sketchy piece. You can go ahead and set the MAF-t zeroed out for 450s and your air signal COULD be ok but more than likely it would be fubar. I good example is I run injector comp and everything else through DSMLink so you would think I would need just base settings on the MAF-t; I run a 3" GM unit but my dip switches are set for a 3.5, and base settings are just rediculous, I don't think the settings I'm using are even in the manual. But that's the only way I could get the air signal close to stock. Luckly with DSMLink we can use the airflow adjustments to make the signal match stock by referencing back to the stock MAS or using a WBo2 but that requires knowlege and some time. Most new users just plug it in and start complaining on the forums without searching for the how tos or just messing with their equipment. Search the DSMLink forums and one of the members wrote up a "how to" for calibrating the MAFT.

Edit: That's also the reason full throttle speed doesn't make the MAF-t with out tuning controls. Not everyone has the luxery of using DSMLink to make the needed corrections to calibrate the MAF-t. A majority of MAF-t users need those tuning knobs just to get the car running right, not for air/fuel tuning.
