I decided to finally start going public with this a bit. If any of you read fullthrottletech.com ... you're already aware of this.

I'm doing this mostly for my own amusment / education and for expanded use with the Scanmaster product. Whilst my offshoot will NEVER alienate people w/o 3rd party hardware like the Scanmaster, understand that adding some of the features like I have/am/about to are impossible without having one (IE Multiple analog inputs).

The SourceForge project for MMCd went no where fast, and without getting into politics the whole cbatters issue went no where fast (if you don't know what I'm talking about, .. don't ask).

I will eventually be putting this on CVS and starting a small forum for requests, bug reports, testing and other stuff.

So anyway, without further ado:

http://www.ecimulti.org/mmcd/

Please read the 'changelog.txt'. All suggestions will be given careful thought, and as soon as the CVS is ready (or if you can just explain in FULL your patches) all programming help is appreciated. I'm not the best C programmer yet, but I'm learning as I go. All of my releases will always include the source.

I currently dev with cygwin, as I'm too broke to afford a nice commercial palm app studio.

The current release is 1.71.xxxxxxxx. Once again read the changelog to find out whats new / different. Some of the things you can look forward into the 'offshoot' MMCd v1.71 is: Airflow logging (g/rev and lb/hr), expanded flag logging, 3200hz logging (assuming you've patched your ROM to do so), many bug fixes, improved sensor lay out... and much much more.

One thing to note if you start logging with this, the stock DSM ECU (1g) is 'capped' to 2.06 g/rev. That being said it behooves you to investigate expanded fuel/timing maps that the DSM-ECU list has released lately. I'll be adding airflow logging for those running expanded maps soon. Basically it allows the ECU to see and compensate to 4.26 g/rev ... anyway thats for another post/topic.

Thanks for your time! :dsm:

I'll try it out here in a bit.

Edit: works great, I like the layout of the sensors, good work!!

Ya, if you read my FAQ i talk about how this offshoot came about.

First and foremost its for my personal amusment / education. However that cbatters guy and I had a little falling out. Most namely he wont post his source code... also that project of his has been in limbo for a long time. I like the scanmaster product, and furthermore I own a DSM. So while I'd never alienate 3S owners.... obviously my main focus, development be it MMCd or ROM related will always be DSM. Clint was very 3S bias and a lot of the things he was doing would alienate DSM users IMO.

He and I agree to disagree, and thats AS FAR as this conversation will go.

You can/will be able to do all the same stuff :) I have a current beta logging my LM-1 via one of the scanmasters analog inputs :)

Either way .. between using the scanmaster, the DSM-ECU group (who you should really thank for airflow logging, 3212Hz logging etc) ... MMCd has a lot of things the most popular commercial loggers DON'T! I also post *all* of my source code to comply and stay in the spirit of the GPL and free nature MMCd was intended to represent.

Edit: I just want it to be known I'm in no way affiliated with FullThrottleSpeed, Ramchargers or Bob Bailey. I bought / paid for my Scanmaster in full and just wanted to expand its usefulness through datalogging. I'm doing the best I can to add all the analog stuff for non SM owners as well (just means you can only use one at a time is all).

Cbatters and the gang at 3si are actively working on a release currently..it isn't in "limbo" they were working on the timing differences for DSM/3S the other day so it will display both accurately so several of your points aren't valid.

also thanks gimpy for making mmcd, i used it first hand this weekend, and it works great!

No offense dude, but I really don't care. Also you will note my version already correctly handles timing for DSM/3S platform. In the preferences menu just drop the "car type" to 3S from DSM. I've been busy on airflow calculation, but I'm also re-adding specific support for 3S extra o2 sensor (I wanted to save sensor space for when a DSM was logging) and a few other things Bob Bailey asked for... since he's a 3S owner.

Use this, use theirs.. use the original... buy a pocketlogger.. its all the same to me. I'm just havin fun and it doesn't cost me a dime. I really don't want to be bothered about it though.

FYI I have a bug in the lb/hr calculation I need to fix... g/rev is correct though. So... with that said ignore its results :) From this point on I'm going to have a known bug/to-do list in the downloads area.

Also EvilX, remember that Dimity Yurtaev is the original author of MMCd! The good guys over @ 3Si and I are merely attempting to improve upon its original use.

Hi, nice work on the MMCD. I have always used the pocketlogger SW and am unfamiliar with the MMCD. Could you maybe list out what all the abbreviations mean. Most are obvious but there are a few i can't figure out.

Thanks

yea, ditto what eclipsefwd said. I looked in your manuals page, but it aint there... Come on Im a friggin Newb at logging, I can figure out what half the abbreviations mean.... OMG
