I got a 4g63 NT (2.0 marked right on it) today for free with trans ( al in good shape. car was hit) and i also have a 2g FWD trans that expleded a spider gear. NOw i know the 1g trans wont' fit the 2g car ( at least without heavy modding)
but i was wondering if i fixed the hole in the 2g model, could i put the DIff from the 1g in it (quaiffe lists only one diff fo fwd and AWD 89 - 99)
I was also wondering about the gearing and the strength of the gears. It would seem i coul get shorter tighter gear spacing using some of the ones from the N/T since it's gewared for less power... Anyone????
I"m keeping the motor either way wince it's so complete, but if i can't make a good trans out of the 2, i think i will just sell the 1g ( it's in great shape) and patch the hole in the 2g one and still hunt for a diff since 2g FWD trannies are so rare used ( i've had to buy one before, they are RARE!@ )
i know some of you know, and since they both fit 4g63's i'm wondering if it would be a good trans for a project car if nothign else ( like a colt or somthing )
ON a side note..the clutch says "south africa" on it and looks WAY different than any OEM clutch i've seen, can anyone give me info on that as well?
also... shouldn't the started interchange as well? both 4g motors and trannies*shrugs*
These might b up for sale here soon as well, alone wioth the wierd shifter that was in the car .. i think it was an 89-90 because of some of the weird parts is found on it and the adjustable shift cables and the weird shiter
AND VERY LAST .the seats *front and back ) are PERFECT they look from a glance to fit in my 2 g...will they? I meani can even change tracks but i thoguht i heard the width is diferent some years back
