I can't decide which intake i want to get. I was looking through the parts catalog and i found two possible choices:

The Dejon Tool 2.75" intake with dump tube:

or the...

Injen Intake (which i cant find a listing for... with only the intake and no filter)

http://www.dsmtuners.com/parts/product_info.php?cPath=3_141_53&products_id=471

Does anyone have any recomendations or advice for me? I have a T-25 right now, but i plan on getting a small 16G or Evo 16G in the future. Im also trying to keep it legal and running similar to stock with the two existing lines running to the intake now...charcoal canister tube and Valve Cover Vent tube. Explained by dejon:

I highly recommend the Dejon 2.75. I had it and loved it. It has alot more volume to it than the injen. And you can use it for the bigger turbo's if you decide to upgrade.

Will disconnecting the charcoal canister tube and Valve Cover Vent tube have any sort of negative effect? CEL's, car acting funny...shit like that?

Did you notice a considerable difference in preformance?

No disconnecting them won't cause any CEL or anything. Matter of fact alot of people disconnect them and put those little filters directly on the valve cover. But if anything get one with everything and just plug them up if don't wanna use them, just in case you need to go back to legal.

Yes i definately felt a difference when i put it on. Spooled a little but quicker and pulled alot smoother.

I can't bring myself to recommend spending much money on a piece of pipe. If anything, Dejon is more reasonable than Injen by far. What I WOULD say to get is a few ABS plastic pieces and make your own intake. Might not suit you, but that's me.

No, disconnecting the 3 lines that go to the intake tube have no negative effects.
VC vent might get oil around your engine bay + is illegal for emissions. filter/catch can.
Charcoal canister I don't think hurts to disconnect, it's for emissions I believe for the unburned vapors when you turn your car off.
BCS is probably long gone.

Sorry. It just means if you are going to get one of their intakes get one with all the options (bov dump tube, canister, valve cover vent and whatever the other one is) So they are at least available if you need them. You can always plug them up.

Oh, right on. Thanks for clearing that up. Does Dejon Tool give the option of including the canister, and valve cover vent and the other one?

Yea they do.

Do you recommend spending the extra 15 to 20 bucks on the all the special tubes including the bcs or just leave them disconnected and then re-intall the stock intake pipe for smog checks?

That's really a personal preferance. I personally got them cause i didn't want anything to do with my stock intake after i got my dejon. If you plan on saving the stock intake then what you said makes perfect sense. But remember if you don't spend the extra couple dollars on the little tubes you are going to have to spend some money on buying the little filter for the valve cover.

You are so right. I considered that to be an option. THanks for all the advice. I'm going to go ahead and get the 2.75" Pipe with all the stock fittings and hose connectors. :thumb: I'm thinken the almost chrome would look nice on my car. Let me know what you think.

Yes to both of you. Their 2.75 comes with a smaller coupling that fits inside of the 2.75 one so it fits on the smaller turbo's. once you go big then you can just take the smaller coupler out and slap it on the big one.
