I installed a dejon tool intake pipe for my 1990 eclipse gs-turbo. hooked everything back up (return tube, charcoal can, have breather filter so other line was eliminated and fitting on pipe was capped off, and intake sensor) the coupler fits well on the mass air flow sensor, however the coupler on the turbo end bunches and shrivels around the stock turbo when i tighten it. do i need a smaller coupler? on the web site it said it was a direct replacement of the factory pipe. also when it was installed, it kept dying during drive and idle. could this be from the coupler or do i need to adjust somthing to make it run properly with it on? this has been driving me crazy. it ran perfect before i installed the pipe, i did put the factory pipe back on and it still doesnt run properly ( still dies randomly). any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.

Did you plug the sensor back in for the MAF? Idk what else it could be if you have the recirc tube on there and didn't touch anything else.

+1. Make sure you plugged the mas sensor back in, most people forget to do this.
Make sure you recirculate as well.
As for the coupler, what do you mean it shrivels ? Try cutting the coupler shorter if it's too long and see if that helps.

The problem isn't your MAF, if you have the caps on. The coupler at the turbo has a adapter ring inside, you need to take it out and clamp down on the turbo side really good. I had the same problem on mine and the thing kept wiggling loose and coming off and causing all sorts of running problems. Once I took the adapter ring out the security of the coupler was much better and allowed the clamp to fit better around the wastegate actuator ( before it would hit against it).

ok ill make sure the coupler is fitting properly around the turbo inlet and that should help the problem of the car dying. and to answere your questions, yes the sensor was plugged in. i didnt have to unplug it to change the pipe.
