ok so my dsm isnt really functioning, no surprise, but here is my question, i was owndering what the place for that pipe is on the top of the intake pipe is for. mine does not have a pipe coming out of the top, it has a bottle top covering it. i bought this car from some dusche bag bag in wisconsin, no offense but some people from wisconsin (milwaukee ecspecially) really are not honest people, anyways, i was wondering what that thing was for and how it would effect performance if it at all. thanks for everything!

its so it can recirculate your bov (blow off valve) get something to run from your stock bov to the hole in the intake. your ecu will compensate for the air that comes out of the bov unless you have the MAFT.

hope that helps

So if you don't understand all that technical mumbo jumbo, it'll cause your car to run a little bit rich when you let off the gas and the blowoff valve blows off. It shouldn't cause any performance issues and it makes that nifty little pssh noise that you hear but it's not factory.

Unless you have an MAFT ("blow through") setup, your really going to need that flange to recirculate your BOV.

It sounds like the guy's car is running more than just a "little bit rich", no doubt from not recirculating his BOV. Personally, I wouldn't recommend venting your BOV, but thats just me...

As stated, it will infact cause performance to suffer. When trying to gain power you go for a bit more of a lean a/f as opposed to more rich.

Buy the recirculation hose from someone if you can find one. It's got a long tube attatched to it that shoots the air directly at the compressor.
