I previously had just a k and n filter on my tsi, buti just got a injen intake pipe. I placed it in the car and i noticed that whenever i let off the gas, the rpms go up a little tiny bit, is this normal. I have a greddy type s blowoff valve also that might be makign a difference. When i installed the intake the smallest tube coming off hte intake is not connected to anything. WHat was on my stock one was a small tube which looked to be cut and had a screw in it. i dont know if that is some kind of free mod or what. THanks guys

is the bov vented or recirculated also how many rpms are you gaining when you let off the gas?

bov is still recirculating, i never changed that, and it jumps maybe 100 rpms but it makes it sound like hell...

I had that problem when i was a Non turbo with my cold air, all i did was i adjusted my idle controll lower and it stopped. its gotta be suckin in some extra air somehow when u let off the throttle.

My TSi does the same thing w/ the rpms, expect mine go up about 400 more after I get off the throttle... its starting to kill my clutch when i shift, because im hitting clutch when the rpms are still going up :thumbdown... it sucks, but it sounds nice as hell

btw... elipsemblue, I'm in hopatcong all the time. I have a boat up there on the lake, we should try and organize a cruise or something

Not sure if this has anything to do with it but did you install a breather filter onto your valve cover? I'm assuming that this small tube you're talking about was for the charcoal cannister.

i do not have a breather filter on my valve cover, i have a tube comeing from the valve cover to the intake, do i need a breather?

No you don't need a breather filter. It'll just throw oil around the engine bay. Mine does the same thing sometimes. No biggie.

Your car is surging because you didnt plug the hole on the intake for the other SMOG line. The turbo is pulling air in through the hole thats un-metered. Your getting a mild effect of what its like to vent the BOV. Put some tape over the hole and it'll be fine, if it still does it your clamps are loose or your couplers suck/leaking more un-metered air.
