Individual Throttle bodies on 2Gen?

Obviously this would be custom made if at all I've done a lot of research
and haven't found much i came across a couple older threads on the search
but they were not in much detail about running turbos with them

I'm also not sure about any difference this would make over the normal
single TB and IM
 
Why not just upgrade to a 1G 60mm TB? I doubt you'd see much of a gain with any dual setup and it certainly wouldn't be worth the time and money, unless of course you're a glutton for punishment.
 
get a magnus and a 75mm TB and call it a day. On my friends honda had ITB's on it for a little while and it was the biggest POS after doing it. I doubt its gonna be worth the time...But go for it
 
A little advice, don´t got out and invent the wheel. Every single mod out there has been tried by someone with either success or failure. If you want to upgrade, go get something that has been tried many times before. Also, tunning ITBs are not that easy to do.

yea i know a good 1gen TB provides less restricted air flow a must have mod after the larger intake pipes but there is a ITB setup that uses a pipe and air filter i'll post the pics in a sec what i was wondering really is if this is still effective with a turbo engine

this ITB setup is pretty much the same thing but i took this pic of an old thread about
a ITB for turbo engine but it didn't explain much and was a prototype

also you guys said that why dont i just go with a 1Gen 60mm single TB
but the throttle response on a single is only near one fifthe a fast in
pressure feel and response then ITB setup with in turn will lead to a
lower track time

perhaps your friends honda wasn't even NEAR ready for that kind of a setup
or maybe he didn't know anything about fuel mixture and ratio



and of course i am only talking about the ITB setup not about the very LARGE turbo
that would be applied to this as well with a large turbo and intake/IC pipes
the quad ITB setup would be alot less restrictive they said that if you compine
the four TB's together you get a total of 104mm over a single of 60mm on a 1Gen
so take that knowledge and you do the math

Depending on your fabrication skills, you should be able to put something together using GSXR or Hayabusa throttle bodies (which are dirst cheap on the bay..). I believe they are in the area of 42mm-45mm each, which should flow plenty of air for our engines. The real challenge would be getting everything sealed up properly, and making it durable.

Another plus is that they will give you four more injector mount points to make use of in the event you run an EMS. Maybe a secondary batch of injectors, or even an entire secondary fuel system filled with c-16, etc.

I think it would be worth a shot.

All the "nay saying"... Didn't Shep have an ITB setup when he first got that car from Burshur and was in the 9s.... I'm thinking Turbo Magazine... circa 2003? Or am I making that up? I've got the mag at home. I'll edit when I verify. Maybe he was GOING to do ITB but ran a Forrester...

I think it'd be worth a shot for throttle response if you've got the time, money, and patience.
 
I think all the nay sayers need to back up a bit. Correct me if I'm wrong, but every innovation that is a "common pratice mod" now like tubular exhaust manifolds and MAF/MAP conversions were first tried by someone with a problem they thought they could fix. I'm sure if we talk to those developers there were problems in the first prototypes, I'm sure people said the same things; Don't waste your time, why would you want to try that, etc. Shoot, I've heard stuff like this a bunch on my twincharger setup, but I'll just enjoy the satisfaction of making it work and letting them wonder how/why.

So give it a shot if you got the resources, do your research first, like almost everything it has been done before on a different engine, see what worked, why, how they did it and piece together a plan of attack. Nothing worse than getting 80% into a project only to find you can't finish it because of a design oversight. Measure twice cut once...
 
by the way, I researched the Shep thing... I appearently made that crap up. Must have been a different set-up in that issue. damn "partial" photographic memory...

sorry.

But still, yeah, innovation is always good... when it works.
 
You would need custom runners ran with individual throttle bodies.. But you'd need a throttle body for each cylinder to properly distribute flow.. Never mind if you want to run nitrous or methanol be more complicated getting everything to be a perfect match.. If you could make a system like this it would IMO give better gains and better breathing capability to the motor.. It does with VW. Usually give upwards of 50+ hp depending on the tune and how much time and effort you really want to put it.. You would deffinately need to use smaller throttle bodies then 45 mm do to the fact you would be running one on every individual cylinder...
