im all into car audio. let me ask if this could b done if so i'd be verry intrested.. A. mount the cd player in the armrest or (don't they have somethin to play AM/FM radio on computers) mount the computer under the passenger seat or since i am taking out my back seat mount it there and fiber glass the screen in the douple din opening. i think that would look better and nothin would really be int he way

You don't want to mount a computer under your seat. You could build up too much heat and run into all sorts of problems. If you are going to run a CPU in your car it needs to be ventilated well.
Chuck, PM me with the plans for that.

wow there killer,
if you even were to look at the math you can see how much a joke it is.
ive been using the converter as well because right now im looking between the two companies and it looks like the foriegn company is better packages, better pricing, and options compared to the one thats closer to home.
but from what it looks like, the dood whose post we hijacked has better prices if i remember right, i have to look over it again, but i think i want this as my next mod.

Honestly 1200 bucks is a little high. I would see what kind of price you could get if you put it together yourself. It's not hard to put a PC together and you would probably save some money as well.

You could get a similar setup for far less than $1200.Just look for an ITX motherboard/CPU like the VIA EPIA, an ITX case and a 12v power supply. The touch pad TFT monitors are available from http://www.xenarcdirect.com/ .The Media engine software is free from www.mediaengine.org I don't even think it is legal for him to sell it.The GPS is available from several places like DeLorme for about a $100.

I dont know the motherboard but to fit the case and have the ddr fit, youd need the VIA EPIA-M10000 C3 1GHz which already has processor and graphics card. that motheboard is $157 shipped.
Motherboard $157 including 1Ghz processor
RAM $60 for .8" slim required for case
Hard Drive $45 shipped
ROM $57 shipped slim drive required for case
Case: Micro ATX Case $140 shipped
Software: Windows XP Home Edition $80 shipped
Thats 539 Shipped for a pc without keyboard/mouse, power supply and monitor. i doubt the power supply will cost the difference in our prices which is $560.99. Let me know if i missed something which i could have.

Those are old prices for old machines. Those machines spec'ed out there are normal sized computers. This one is about the size of a head unit.
