Yes, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the teflon tape that comes with the kit is the blue/white package stuff that dissolves in gasoline... I also bought this kit, it's sitting in the living room unassembled. But I went to Home Depot and picked up some of the yellow/black packaging tape that is for use with gasoline.

There's are two different types, the blue/white package WILL dissolve with fuel, the yellow/black is supposed to be rated to work with fuel although i cannot vouch for this from personal experience. I used teflon paste when installing my SS fuel feed and return line set-up..no leaks after 3 years of use :thumb:

Thanks for all the praise guys, we really do appreciate all of your business. :rocks: :rocks: :rocks:

Just chiming in here because this isn’t the first time we have heard that the "white" Teflon wont do the job. It is what we run on our own FPR's, and none of us have ever had an issue. We had one local guy send in a complaint, but after examining his car it just turned out to be improper coverage of the threads with tape.

On to the meat of the subject though. I spent a fair amount of time researching the tape which we sent out, especially after reading this thread. The last thing we want to do is sell you guy’s something that fails. I did find out however that PTFE Mil-Spec T-27730A Teflon tape's only weakness is Sodium Potassium Alloy's, molten metal (according to a guy we talked to at 3M), and of course direct fire above 600 degree's in which it degrades into a series of fluorocarbon’s and hydrofluoric acid for a few seconds. It is recommended for fuel use among many, many other things.

But if any of you have had a direct issue with the tape we certainly would like to hear from you though, all feedback is welcome. Something we do recommend if you are having an issue with leaks would be to wrap the tape around twice in the direction of the threads and then give it another shot, this method has seemed to work for us.

Once again, thank you all for your business and all of the great praise.

Happy Tuning,

Richard
