I have had my 1g for three years almost four and I never once thought about selling it .Just think about it this way.Have you ever had something totally awesome like a dsm for instance and sold it and found some remorce for selling it some time later.Well I have and that feeling realley sucks.Especially when you see your old car driving down the street twenty times cooler looking and sounding way better than it ever did for you. Also why would you sell it for something more reliable when you cant even make enough money off of the thing to buy a new ride that is reliable.Just buy a cheap old car to drive while you work on that thing over time dont let it stress you out.

whew, glad to hear.. I'd hate to get half-way through this to have trouble. You've been great so far. Honestly, I hope you get the car figured out.. hope you don't have any more trouble.

good luck with your car, and glad you decided to stick with it

Knock on wood I'm still running strong on the stock clock at 141k miles. I keep modding the beast and somehow it takes everything I throw at it. I recently strapped on a 16G and nitrous kit. I've sprayed the shit out of the car and it still keeps ticking. My car is always current on maintenance, otherwise I haven't done anything to it. I love my DSM and couldn't really be sad if it broke. The way I flog it, it deserves to break. I posted this a year ago.... http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/new...miles-does-your-dsm-have-2.html#post151105318

KPEclipse, I was under the impression that under no circumstances should you use any kind of sealant on an MLS headgasket. It already has a thin high temp rubber seal compound around the key areas. Copper gasket spray would eat that rubber compound up. I am thinking that you used an MLS? To ease your pain a little I double as a Jeepster.
Man! I spend as much time under my jeep as in it. Good luck man. Its better to have more good sense than money. Or is it? I am interested in lots of parts, especially the Turbo system. I also would love to hear
exactly what did break. I am not so sure it was the Head Gasket. Perhaps something to do with BS elimination? One last thought. One must not get one drop of moly lube on the head gasket. It provides a poor seal and can provide a path for the heat to burn through. Especially if it gets on the space between two cylinders at the narrowest point.. But as I said, I think your break down occurred elsewhere.
