Thought some of you might be interested in this, and maybe you could offer me some comments and advice on it. Having played around on TunerPro and managing to get hold of an early Evo .bin file (an Evo II .bin unless I am mistaken), I have found some ignition and timing maps in the code.

This seems to be the main fuelling map:

And this seems to be the main ignition timing map:

I then have a second map on the chip:

And a secondary timing map:

And something that is defined as a ignition retard map:

The maps are a little confusing to me but maybe someone can help explain them and offer a few comments on them with regards to tuning. Don't know much but they seem a little different from the DSM maps. Bear in mind that the Evo 1 and 2 have 8.5:1 compression.

Maybe something you guys could help me out with here. I've got 3 timing maps (pictured below) that came from an Evo 3 chip. This is going to be a simple question, but what's the difference between them (apart from the actual figures, obviously)? And why does the "retard" map have a bunch of 242s and 244s at the top left of the map?

The first/second maps might be a warmup map, like how honda wont let you hit vtec until the car is decently warm.
Unless its set from the factory for stick/auto, I've never seen an auto evo though =)
The range up/down is load and left/righ is RPM, most tuning programs are setup like that.
How did you pull the code? From a chip reader and converted the hex to something readable?

A friend sent me the .bin file and Tunerpro plus the correct definition file lets me convert the hex into something understandable

Another update on these maps. Apparently there are only 2 ignition maps I need to look at. One starts at 768B and the other starts at 756B for me. The former is my main map and the second is if knock is high. And I now have the correct rpm values on them, which actually go up to 8000rpm (it is the Evo 7,8,9 which have an 11000rpm map).

So the tables and corresponding graphs I'll be starting with are below. How does that timing look to begin with?
