Idles Issues With Clutch Disengaged

Searched my two questions and didnt find anything that really fit my situation.

Ok, just put in a new built motor with 272 cams and no balance shafts, also a new ACT 2600 clutch. i removed the fiav and pcv valves and replaced them with jmFab block off plates.

Problem 1. i'll be sitting stopped and push in the clutch and my rpms will rise (not fast, but smoothly) to 1,400. my idle is set at 950-1,000. sometimes it'll do this while the car is in neutral and clutch is not pushed down. no idea why it does this.

Problem 2. Happened to me on my way home today going about 25 mph (slowing to make a left turn) i pushed in the clutch and the car just died, little to no sputtering. car fired right back up with no issues. I'm primarily worried about this one for obvious reasons.

problem 2 - I had this exact same problem right before my alternator and alternator fuse both went out. it did that crap to me like 4 times on my way home from work, then it started with the usual symptoms

hmm ok, i do recall getting a little spark from touching a loose connection on my alternator. but everything works fine, ill look for more symptoms of a alternator issue. Any more ideas?

there is a chance that the two problems are un related, i notice you have a gm maf, from what i remember these occasionally cause unstable idle. I have the same issue that you do, sometimes it just goes up to 1400-1600 and sits there, after doing boost leak test after boost leak test i haven't been able to find a leak, so i just assumed it was a side effect of having a gm maf.

as far as your alternator goes, my charging terminal started sparking one time when i was testing the voltage, it wasn't a bad connection or a short, it was just sparking, so i had it tested, advance said it was fine. so i ordered a new one anyway, put it in, and then noticed that the alternator fuse was blown. I definitely checked it before and it was good, so i'm guessing it had hairline cracks and the last time i ran the car it just finally blew. whether i actually needed the alternator or not, I will never know. but i have a shiny new alternator and a new fuse in the box and my car runs just fine now.

as a side note, eventually my problem progressed into unstable voltage and the car just died completely on me while i was on my way home one night.

hmm ok, i was not aware of GM mafs causing idle issues. I've also noticed that even when i turn my BISS screw the idle doesnt change. Oh well. The stalling out hasnt happened again so maybe it was a one time thing, i hope so.

now i have a small oil leak where my return line bolts to the oil pan. i think its too much crankcase pressure, because i deleted my pcv valve and replaced it with a jmfab catch can i know those are supposed to vent but maybe its not venting as much as it should?
