Today, when I started the car and drove it for like 15mins, everytime i stop in a redlight the car exhaust goes like buh buh buh buh when its in idle. the car shake and it feels like the car is going to go off.
Can it be that i have to clean the throttle body or somethin ? running too rich maybe?

is that expensive ?

might try pulling it off and cleaning it real good with carb cleaner ect sometimes that is all it needs, and if you do need a new one.

you can get it from mitsubishi brand new for. 100.84
+ 5.95 shipping

(that link really doesnt work the best LOL. just go to Fuel system - Fuel induction - Fuel injection - idle speed control )

or go to the junk yard and get a used one, which isnt as good as a new one but its definately the better bang for your buck since you will probably only pay about 7 bucks for it.

2GNTs do not have an ISC. We have IAC, which is a similar, stepper motor-style device, but I just want to be sure to mention it, given the number of GST owners offering this advice.

Most common idle problems in a 2GNT are tuning-related. How long since you've done any kind of tune up? Cleaning or replacing your air filter, fresh spark plugs with the proper gap, and a can of Seafoam through the gas tank can mean the difference between a car that purs and one that grumbles. If it's been a while since you've done any of the above maintenance, I would look into that stuff first.

After that, you might also check out your vac lines in the engine bay. They are notorious for cracking/failing and causing idle issues. If the problem happens more when cold than when warmed up, you might consider the coolant temp sensor (CTS), as the ECU uses coolant temp to determine some fuel trims. Also somewhat common with the cold/warm is EGR issues.

Do you have any CELs?

well the only thing i have changed is the spark plugs and motor mounts, the rest is bolt on.

Whats CEL?

so true, it is the IAC but for some reason the mitsubishi parts catalog has it listed as the idle speed controller for the 2.0L w/o turbo.

yea i have the check engine light on ,

i didnt think about that , i have a check engine light scanner when that happends again i will do it.

thanks

Mine does the same thing, my CEL came up as an oxygen sensor. Mine just has an irratic idle though. It happened for me when I put my header on. It's where the engine is getting varying readings from the sensor and is trying to adjust the idle by dumping or restricting fuel.
