ok the car is a 95 tsi awd. it has greddy fmic, recirculated greddy bov, apexi safc 2, mbc, and a stock t25 and everything else is stock.

the problem is that right now when ever you start it it idles at about 2k rpm or 3k rpm and doesnt go down. ive searched and couldnt find anything close to this problem. im leaning towards the tps sensor being bad. i already cleaned the throttle body. the other problem is that it was running rich and i checked the safc and the previous owner took all the fuel out at all rpms for some reason. he also had the bov NOT recirculted and it ran rich. i have since fixed it and am not sure if it runs rich or not yet. the oil does smell like gas though and it blew black smoke under boost. the car also puffs white smoke when u shift and the car was building boost. but doesnt any other time. the car is not on the road just yet but i need to fix these problems and i am stumped. any help would be great.

Hey!

First things first.

1. You had said that you see "black smoke" that's a great indicator of fouling. check your plugs, or get new ones to test.
2. Make sure your plug wires are in good shape, no cracks, and connections are tight.
3. Clean your intake, and throttle body with Carb cleaner. You may need to remove and thoroughly clean each part separately.

4. Check for all hose connections and leaks
5. Replace your PCV to be safe, they are cheap.

High Idle,

1. Check your throttle cable adjustment
2. Check your ISC and clean. Do not lose the O-Ring.
3. Spray the O-ring with Silicone before Re-Insertion
5. Get the Basics done so they can be eliminated before further diagnosis.

put in a new isc but it didnt solve the problem. i think the tps is bad or the throttle body seals are bad. no boost leaks. other then the idle the car runs great but i cant tune my safc until i fix the idle. please help this is driving me nuts
