my 96 eagle talon is idling at inconsistent rpm it stays at under 1 thousand when warm most of the time, but specificly i wonder if this could be caused by the after market muffeler i put on it. i liked the apexi active silencer insert and i have a constant silencer in now but that has not identified the active silencer unless i messed up the computer by confusing it when the air flow changes? i have recently had a new catalytic converter since i have been to my friend the mechanic and i have read about full function tech near me who specialize in these cars but i was hoping to go to them with some imrpovements ideas instead of stalling outside.
stuart

i have had correct advice about my cam sensor before for free this site is awesome thank you in advance.:D

so other blogs identify this problems as being associated with the ecu or the coil i have also been doing my own sub installation could i have blown a fuse somewhere accidentally? what is a mpi relay?

The Mpi Relay Is Located Under The Radio Close To The Ecu. It Is About 1/4 The Size Of The Ecu. ok i just hooked up my elm scan and it says error p0351 and p0352 something about the engine coil but the isc seems suspect also could the error be wrong? it is not really erratic idle that is the real problem but not starting right now but some times at a stop sign whe im braking the idle drops and stalls adn has troule starting really annoying.. the internet said to change the isc at 75000 i dont know if it has been done at 160000 on a new motor at 155000 i dont know what was replaced minimal i believe because that was a big hit at the time. about the other blogs thanks for the places to look but im sorry if i did not know what to search for because that is why i am asking you. i owe the dude above some cash. thanks alaska

You know how to test an ISC motor? I'm not sure the difference between the 4g63 and 420a ones if there is a difference
There's not as much info on 420a stuff
Maybe someone that is more N/t savvy can chime in...

I would check out your coil also
P0351=Ignition Coil No. 1 Primary Circuit Malfunction
P0352=Ignition Coil No. 2 Primary Circuit Malfunction

if you get a P0505 code that is for the IAC/ISC steper motor but I don't think even if it is Fubar it wil throw that code there realy isn't any feed back for the ecu to figure out if there is something wrong with it

Here is a list of codes if that helps ya out any

Edit: I always forget that 2g N/t have chrysler ecu's those may or maynot be the right codes

im serious pm me your account dude i lived in alaska for a few months with relatives in the islands in the southern part. i really enjoy this car the size and affordability and i like fixing it up i have some days off now hopefully i dont get called in but i am going to take it to my friend the mechanic because i dont know how to test it. i want to earn my friends respect my bringing him a solved problem or parts to install. i have replaced enough parts that were not broken on my civic and datsun 510 before that to want to ask you guys if you know what this is! i have 40 $ with your name on it.

i found the 420a isc online somewhere else and they did not get into testing it... but the coil does make sense more and i got the error code.. and the isc maybe ... i will post the solution soon thank you for your support and your time and education it took to know that.

my friend found wires at the fuel pump relay breaking and the asd relay not working at times. he did not find any parts broken so he had to go through the wires and trace the ignition problem. i was talking to full function tech but they know more about turbos but would have helped but i was panicking but i am all good now thank you for teaching me and talking with me it is impossible to diagnose acar over the internet but thank you for your help because maybe you had this problem before or maybe this could help someone else.

Its not imposiable it just more dificult when you don't have All the information...
I take that $40 did'nt realy have my name on it...

it seems the problems are seperate because my stalling is resolved by the wiring rapair however i just had it rev above 2 durring idle so i think the isc sounds suspect now also earlier it was running fine when warm weather but cold it acts up. i will get that replaced and report back in.
thank you.
