I have a 16g on my car currently and I was wonderig what it would take to max it out....My current mods are....

HKS SSQV BOV, Autommeter Boost Gauge, Apexi 60mm EL EGT Gauge Big 16G, HRC FMIC, Hallman Evolution Pro Series MBC, Apexi Dunk Megaphone 2.5" Cat Back, Walbro 255 lph, Apexi GT Downpipe, 680cc Injectors coming soon, complete Dejon Tool 3" MAFT Blow Trough setup

I have no tuning done to it at all....I plan on gettin it done when I upgrade to the new MAFT version and get a logger or something....but what else would I need to max out the 16g and how much HP realistically am I lookin to see. Thanks

Well once you get your Logger, Fuel, and Maft(or do you already have this?) you can "max it out". Now whether you want to push your stock head studs, head gasket, and bottom end pass XX psi is up to you. I personally would not be scared to turn it up but you will get varying responses, including but not limited to you need a better head gasket, you need Arp's past XX psi, your stock bottom end cant support XXX horsepower. If tuned well and running we'll say 23psi on race gas I would guess 280-310whp. You could upgrade cams, intake manifold, do some port work, and more and gain power without swapping turbos though. If you don't have one already you are going to need a clutch for sure. Some sticky tires wouldn't hurt either, say hello to traction problems once you up that boost.

The big 16G can support between 360 to 380 HP. Your stock bottom end is strong enough already. Your head won't need porting, but cams will help. To get the most out of this turbo you will need full supporting mods.

I'd say with some race gas and good tuning you should be able to pass the 300 whp mark. Here is a link to a guy that broke 300 awhp on a small 16g recently. CLICK ME!!!!!!!!!!

The issue you/we are going to have is putting all of that "power" to the ground. Lets work on getting you a lsd along with a new clutch. Like I said a few days ago I am having an issue with traction now on a T-25. Plus it all comes down to tuning that car!

Thanks for the responses guys but one thing, I already have the current version of the MAFT, but a new upgrade is available that is suppose to make an AFC obsolete for fine tunning, regardless I am a noob when it comes to tuning so definately going to have someone help on that, also I am trying to avoid race gas, Im not a track freak, just either street or highway. Its my daily driver so Id like to try to max out "reliably" and I use that term very loosely...

I have a clutch and injectors coming up, could possibly afford some cams anything else? Once again thanks for all the help.

youre definately gonna have traction problems. my friend has a FWD with less power then youre making probably, and his tires spin a lot. also definately get that thing tuned as soon as you can its such a difference

Im sure I am going to have traction problems but like I said its nothing a pair of slicks cant fix if I am at the track. Like I said I am not a big track guy, just some highway racing, im sure Ill have the traction issues still but it will be less from a roll then from a start. :thumb: Or at least im hoping. I am about to order injectors, what do you guys think,

FIC 650s or PTE 680s? Once again thanks for all the help.

Traction really isn't that bad. I have a pte 50 trim with full supporting mods and cams on 20 psi and I can sill do roll races in 2nd gear w/o too much wheel spin. 1st gear it is hard to shift before hitting the rev limiter but the awd guys know about that. Good intercooling will be important on the b16. With just the turbo and no fuel look for around 240whp. With fuel and fmic look to 280whp. On race gas you should be able to crack 315-320.
