Hi everyone,
I have a 1998 Eclipse GSX i currently have a 16g set up with some head work done to it full exhaust FMIC, i want to hit the 450whp range SAFELY i have stock internals. The winter is coming soon so I'm sticking the gsx in the shop. I'm under a budget of $2000. what would you guys recommend me doing?

, even with crankwalk). The airflow part is arguable but just because the ports are bigger DOES NOT mean it flows better. Magnus started removing the oil squirters on the 7-bolts and has yet to see one crankwalk. 7-bolts can handle 450awhp, Curt Brown made 470somethingAWHP on a completely stock 7-bolt WITH A 16G. With that in mind do you really want the pain of swapping a 6-bolt that will just allow you to make more power on a stock block(which is usely used and has a chance of being in worse condition than yours). A built 7-bolt is better than a built 6-bolt, period. Over the winter you can build the 7-bolt(or just throw some evo pistons/rods for ease and no down time) and have a NEW MOTOR that will last if all precautions were taken. Then again a 6-bolt can be had for cheap and there is very little modding needed to swap in.
