I need an idea on exhaust.

I'm torn here. I have stock exhaust and its rotten to say the least. I'm up in the air on whether to use the 2.5 inch stainless sticks I have and head to the muffler shop, or sell the stainless and get a used exhaust off here or c/l. I have a 3" inlet muffler to round it all out. I don't know the brand but it is real stainless. The factory exhaust is broken where it comes up over the rear suspension, pumping exh gasses right at the gas tank.(not good) . I may just cut the section of pipe off just after the last hanger before the pipe makes the up turn and throw a turn down on it for now. I'm just afraid that will sound too.....Honda! Any suggestions? Thanks guys.

I would just buy a used exhaust from a local off CL or the forums.
Thats the easiest and cheapest route.

Megan downpipes with an SRS exhaust are going for less than $450 to your doorstep on ebay nowadays. Full 3" 304 stainless. Not sure on your budget but its definitely an option to add.

We have 3" on the kids, sounds sweet. Used is easy and inexpensive. Labor to have one welded up using your 2.5" would probably be more than buying a new one, at least with labor rates up here.

It's awd. Mines a fwd. I wish it would work. I was planning on just having a shop bend everything for me. A friend has access to a tig to put it all together. My wife just started back to work after 3years in school so right now my budget is miniscule but its getting better every payday. I was just looking to do something so I don't burn my car to the ground. I found one guy who has a full apexi n1 3" for 225. I think I'm just going to try to get him down a little and get it this weekend. For right now so I can drive it safely I'm gonna put the dump on it, and live with the noise for a couple days.

If you lived locally I would sell you my apexi n1 exhaust(fwd). Turbo cars have deeper exhaust note then n/a car's they won't ever really be crappy sounding. Any 3 inch exhaust will do it's just piping. The bigger the better less back pressure so you don't blow up your car.

I was just worried about the stock pencil sized pipe. I have no cat and would be dumping it right before the rear suspension. Thought it might sound like a bee in a beer can. Who knows though maybe I'll be able to unload it to some Honda kid at a good price with the (JDM style super awesome exhaust) .

Nah only hondas sound like crap when they rev to 50,000rpm ... But if you do that it will be loud but will sound good and most likley hear the turbo spool. Check out youtube there is tons of exhaust videos like that so you can hear what it will sound like.

I may just keep it that way..... Except the wife is going to be driving it, when its road worthy. I'm hunting for a gsx. I was however thinking I may just replace the straight stuff I can with the 2.5 stainless and let er hunt. As we say around here. Thanks

I bought my cat back off ebay for 120 bucks shipped to my door. It was perfect great welds and the fit was great....then I found a catless down pipe on ebay for 80 bucks shipped as a bid. I bid 80 bucks and won the auction it came looked great, quality welds bolted up perfect. Sold my cat for 80 bucks so got my money back! I just ordered my stainless o2 for 50 bucks. I hated how quiet the exhaust still was so I cut open the canister and removed ALL the material that quiets exhaust down. Took it to a exhaust shop had it welded back up for thirty bucks.

So I have 190 in my full exhaust that fit great and sounds great! I recommend looking on ebay

I've looked on eBay, I just don't know who to look for and who to stay away from. My plan was to get it drivable this week so I can put some miles on it this weekend. This poor factory exhaust has been cut, welded and patched so many times I can't tell if there is any stock pipe left on it. I'm going to assume the rusted out crap is what was left of the stock pipe. I'm going to try to talk the guy here locally down a little and see what happens. I can live with the noise for now. I'll keep you guys posted. Edit: has anyone ever heard of indyracingparts on eBay? They are in Indianapolis Indiana, and have a 3" catback system for under 100 shipped. Thanks again.

Just look on Craigslist for a used exhaust. I bought my 3'' atr exhaust for $150 and it sounds great. Also, if you need a downpipe, get one of ebay, even the $80 3" one will be just fine, just check the welds when you get it. Or get the megan one.

I chopped off the rotten pipe and ran the exhaust out the driver side in front of the tire. Sounds amazing! I think the wife even likes it. I got a rectangle tip to hug close to the pinch weld. I'll get a pic up soon. Thanks guys!
