London,
OK this might sound like a stupid question but.. What is recirculating mean when it comes to your air?? I just read a post talking about venting and recirculating.. And what is BOV?? I'm only asking because I'm in the processes of opening up my air intake.. I guess I need to know these things.. I'm still new to these DSM's. I've had my Laser for a year now and instead of running it into the ground I would like to keep it for years to come.. I hope I'm not posting this in the wrong spot.. If so Sorry bout that guys!! The post was saying that venting is bad and I'm not even sure what they r talking about!!!

Well, your profile says your car is Naturally Aspirated, which means you don't have a blowoff valve (BOV).

But just for your info, on turbo'd DSM's there is a hose that runs from the end of the BOV to the end of the intake by the turbo. When the car blows off and the hose is attached, that air is recirculated back into the turbo. This is the way the car was designed to run.

When that hose is unhooked and clamped from the BOV, the BOV becomes a lot louder and more audible, which is why people do it. However, when it's vented to the atmosphere like that, the mass airflow sensor on the car is telling the car that the air your blowoff valve just released is there, which it isn't. Causing the car to run poorly.

Hope this helps :rocks:
