I got a couple questions i am doing a rebuild!

Ok i am doing a rebuild i thought about going with custom 1g rods to fit 2g pistons.and raise the compression to 8.5.maybe elimanating the balance shaft.and of course going threw the head because timing belt broke and bent a couple valves.and i know with decking the block an head its going to raise compression also.but would it be better to just go wit the over sized pistons that raise compression from 7:8:1 to 8:1?should i do that or go with the 2g pistons custom rods idea?And elimnating the balance shaft has any one had any troubles with that?besides the vibrations!

Balance shaft removal isn't to hard, and the vibration isn't bad at all. I'd recommend it just for the reliability factor.

I would never over bore a motor w/o a reason. Over bored with the proper piston will result in a theoretical 0 change anyways.

And I know I see people use the NPR pistons that fit 1g rods. They are oem quality 8:1 cr pistons. I used them once, I had no issues till my fuel pump died and ran way lean.

What are your goals, that would really determine what you need. Stock to mild; this all would be fine, if you going over 400hp, maybe consider forged parts while its apart.

ok on the balance shaft!Im not looking for a change but when u removed the stock piston.but when you remove the stock piston your going to have to go up on the next one just because the oem isn't going to fit snug.

Being a smart ass to a mod will only get your ass banned. He is telling you the rules, if you dont follow them, youll be banned, its that simple. Are you talking about the pistons not fitting? If so, dont rebuild this thing...you have no idea what your doing. If you order 20 over pistons, and they dont fit, dont be surprised. If it doesnt need bored over, dont do it, as sniver said.
If you seriously think standard sized pistons arent going to fit, because the old ones are the same size, stop now.... And btw, pistons NEVER...EVER fit "snug".
