I changed the fluid

Alright i have a gear that doesnt seem to engage properly when putting it in at first, I have to hold it there till it engages, is there something that needs adjusting?

Ok i changed the tranny fluid, it shifted a little better in all the gears but I still had the problem in third gear, its not engagin right, I was thiking you know how people shift into one gear and accident hit the middle of the gears and keep trying to jam it in, would that cause something to be moved and all it would need is a adjustment.

Sorry that the fluid change didn't fix it. Generally, when people either jam a gear in or push it too far against the stops, it can bend or break the shift fork. It seems like your transmission will need to come out so you can assess the damage.

I'm just sorry that the simple things didn't fix it. Pulling a trans on an AWD isn't fun and can be time consuming.

Now just to clarify in your first post you were having a problem with first gear. After the fluid change your having a problem with third, would this be correct? If so you need to yank of have yanked you tranny and see what is going on internally. Could have some bad synchronizers in there.

no no its always been the third gear, there was a mis understanding on that.

I dont know Ill guess I will find out, I dont want mess with it myself cause Im new to cars let alone dsm's. Im taking it to a trustworthy guy whos been in the buisness for 30 years.
