my friend ken had some lancer struts with eibach springs laying around. we both got board fit it up and lowered the car. it was interesting to say the least. the ride is still good not as bumpy as i thought but she turns like shes on rails. got it up to 55 on a I-80 cloverleaf.

Its not too low mines sitting this low. I cant get my oil changed too low ;(. Its k though because I don't let anyone touch my oil or my tires don't trust those guys.

Btw Nice find though its a good alternative for people.

Oh yea btw meet your new enemy : Speedbumps , Messed up Roads, Most Bumps, Driveways, Tire shops, rail road tracks, any type of object in the street. :)

I'd be curious what the stock springs would be like on that car. I bet it would handle better. This looks much too low for effective handling on a 1g. Either way, in for more info.

What is the motion ratio of a 2009 lancer? The rates of the eibachs? The rates of stock springs?

its been a couple of days and i think the back end needs to come a little bit. like stated above ive meet my new enemy's in the road. however this did greatly improve my handling. the whole idea behind it was that the lancer is a much heavier car so it would be like using an expensive set up for o the cost. at least as far as theory was concerned. it may be a little too low but the suspension dose not give on any curve however it seems to handle straight on bumps and pot holes much better than any other car with a simple shock spring setup I've ever driven. once i bring the back end up it will be practically perfect. to answer a few questions about the setup. The set up is off a 09 lancer GTS no evo parts were used. the rears bolted straight up. the fronts are my stock struts and the eibach springs.i used my stock struts because the mounting plates would not swap and i did not want to drill the car to fit the struts. however if i did the struts for the front would fit no problem. the old setup up was completely oem. as far as the more technical questions im still in the R&D stages of all that. like the title states i couldn't believe this worked. i had planed on it not working at all and just putting the original equipment. sorry more tech to come soon though.

Way, way, WAY too low in the rear for the 1g suspension geometry.

So 09 lancer spring in the front with stock shocks, and lancer shocks and springs in the rear?

That lancer must have been low low low..Are they aftermarket shocks, that are adjustable or not?

So you're saying that the lancer you took those off of was lower than your 1G (assuming the lancer is as heavy as you think)? With just Eibachs and oem struts?

yeah seems like the back tire is way to front

I don't think using a different cars strut will change the wheel base. I think that's just the angle of the pic that makes it look that way. The only adjustment a strut can make is height, obviously, and camber, ie pillow ball adj. mounts.

ok so after driving with this setup i really liked it but i knew the backwas too low for how stiff it was. i switched the mounts for the rear struts from the lancer gts uppers to oem uppers. it brought the rear up about an inch. so far this seems to be the perfect correction for the rear setup. do you guys think its still to low?

Dude, props for trying it, it does look better with the back raised up, but to me it looks like its pants are falling down and its trying to hold them up.
