Alright guys... So completely confused here... Please help me out I posted in the problem diagnosis forum ... everyone ignored me....

I have a 1997 Eclipse Gs, I bought it at a repo auction... The guy before me took all kinds of shit out of the damn car.. I am so confused with everything ... There is bundels of wires everywhere ... its a wiring mess...

The thing that really gets me though is when I turn the car on it will run fine right...... till I try and rev it past 4 grand... I didn't think non turbo cars had fuel cut in there ecu? So I was looking around trying to figure out what the hell was going on... I found this wire that has a fuse connected to it on the battery terminal... When the fuse is in it wont start but makes a loud priming noise, when the fuse isnt in.. it will start but only rev to 4 grand.... I have some pictures any help you guys could give me with anything would make me very much abliged...
thanks alot

first of all. pull out any wires that you know don't belong. find the hrc instructions online and go over the connections that they ask you to make. remove the rest. then hook everything back up the way its supposed to be.

wow!!!looks almost like my engine bay...hehe...make sure ur fuel setup is hooked up right?i had kinda the same prob when i had both the hrc inline and walbro intank running at the same time...my car will bogg down around 4000 rpm when i was driving..i made a mistake and connected the hrc inline the wrong way..but once i redid the fuel line the car ran fine.

It looks like the top picture, showing the inline fuel pump, has one of the hoses disconnected. The "priming" noise that you're hearing is the inline fuel pump. The fuse that you put in is for the pump. If that hose is disconnected and you have the fuse in, you should have fuel spraying all over under your car when you try to start it. Sounds like the wiring is screwed up for the pump.

It doesnt spray gas anywhere. Thanks for the comments guys and I did everything you guys said including calling the hrc tech line but you have to have a customer number. That in which I do not have becuase I bought the car from repo.. Any other ideas. pretty much what people are telling me is that I need an AFC. how much does one of them cost? any ideas?
thanks guys I apreciate your help

Oh and if any of you guys would happen to have a front bumper for a 97 eclipse that would help alot too. Ofcourse I would be buying.. lmk thanks guys

You are throwing no codes at all with this problem?

Also my Eclipse's previous owner (who stripped everything I put on it when she abandoned it and I had to go pick it up at the impound lot) had put an AFC on the car and she pretty much cut the thing out when she took it - I haven't had any problems with not having one so it's definitely not necessary to get another one if the car had one prior.
