Ok I searched and didnt find any conclusive method to doing this. Does anyone have an easy or easier way/method of removing the axle from the intermediate shaft? I'm sure there are people on here who have replaced there drivers front axle before without taking it to a machine shop to have it pressed out. Did you just beat on it till it came out?:beatentodeath:

i already removed the axle/hub/spindle......my hub was shot but my axle was frozen in it. So i bought a new spindle/axle and hub but i need to get my intermediate shaft off the old axle. So then yes i need to get the part that goes into the trans off the cv/axle.

I just held mine in a vise & used a pry bar & it popped right out. Now I did have issues with it not wanting to come out at first, think I had it clamped in the vise with the axle inner CV housing. Then I switched to clamping it on the intermediate shaft bracket & it popped out no problem. I don't know if it was just a fluke & moving the part around positioned the internal snap ring abit different, but once I did this it didn't take much force at all to snap them lose.
