i was wondering is there a site i can find that tells me how to reset my ecu in my 97 eclipse gst. also how do i get to my ecu?

To reset it you just remove theneg battery cable and leave it off for about 15min.
To accsess it you pull off the drivers side console cover and its behind the radio

ECU is right under the center consol. You can reset it by pulling the harness out of the ECU and letting it sit for about 10 minutes, or just pull the battery conections if you don't want to take the side trim off of the center consol. Just kill power to the ECU for around 10 minutes in one way or the other :thumb:

thanks alot for this gonna have to do that over the weekends. not on much no more to check up since its my first year in college.

sorry to revive an old thread, but my friend has a 96 eclipse gs. we had his battery disconnected while we were installing his intake and then reconnected it when we got his intake on. i think it took us longer than ten minutes to install it but he didnt let the computer "relearn" after he turned the car on. he revved the car to redline a few times and then drove off. how would this effect the "relearning" of the ecu after we installed his intake and would it be wise to reset the ecu again but this time allow 5-10 minutes for the car to idle?

why would you free rev to redline

I pull the two fues's under the hood and count to 15, put them back in and bam, light gone, and let it idle for 5mins, every thing is fine.
