Went to replace my battery today took the old one out put the new one in and now there is NO POWER. No lights come on nothing. Can someone point me in the right direction with a write up? Ive tried everything and nothing. Need to get my car running so any help would be appreciated.

Is there a specific way the wires go back on the negative? I've switched them multiple times and nothing.

Are the terminals clean, tight, and hooked up correctly (not switched)? Are all the ground wires connected to the terminal (including the firewall ground)? Finding a write up will be hard, this is honestly too simple to even need one. Just make sure all wires are connected, clean, and tight.

If you put them on backward you may have damaged your ecu or other parts of your electrical system. You could have damaged the battery too you should take it back and have it tested. You cant just switch them around and see what works, you need to be sure that you are hoking the terminals up correctly the 1st time.

Is the new battery you got charged?

As Wes mentioned, battery is as plug and play as it gets. Just make sure you get good metal on metal contact.

I'm assuming it's charged since its brand new. I guess I could give it a jump and see

Yes there is 2 grounds on the negative I put both on and no power. Is there a specific way they go on? Does the firewall ground go on last?

For the grounds it doesn't matter as long as they stayed on the ground terminal. Technically, you should still get something at least even with that strap not connected (not the best, but the entire ground is connected to the block which is where the main cable goes).

The battery that you bought, does it have an 'R' after the battery size number?

No it does not have an R I'm so confused why this is happening. I tried jumpIng it but nothing but I do get spark from the negative.

Just because it's a new battery, don't assume its not already discharged. Parts get over looked all the time by the retail industry. I've gone through that with a battery myself. Although a jump start can be beneficial to starting the car, do not depend on that for charging it, have it charged properly. Also make sure you jump it the right way too. Most people will throw the negative lead of the jumper cables directly on the negative terminal of the battery being jumped. As this will work, it is not the best procedure. Hook that lead straight to the frame of the car. Doing it that way helps prevent voltage spikes, which if occur, can harm the ECU.

You always get voltage spikes when jumping a car. The best way to avoid this is turning on as much power consumers as possible (like the AC, headlights, sound system...) AFTER the car is running but BEFORE removing the clamps.
