I recently got some RC 550 injectors for my 2g GSX that are saturated. I believe that with satuated injectors, you have to pull the resister box. Does anyone know of any tutorials on how to rewire the injectors to work. Thanks

Do you mean you got some high impedance 550's. Saturated vs Peak and hold are descriptions of the injector driver electronics not the injectors regardless of what RC says and our 4G63 ECUs use the same saturated drivers NA or Turbo, the snubber circuit is different between the two but the transistors are the same. What impedance are they?

Check the impediance across the prongs with a multi meter. Saturated injectors are 11-16ohm and Peak and hold are 2-4ohm. Our cars are Peak and hold or low impedidance. Saturated inijectors are for Hondas etc. They do make a 550cc saturated injector so this may be what you have, in which case they will not work. We do not have a resistor box like some honda's do our computers are programmed to work with low impediance injectors.

Basically if you measure them and they are high impediance put them on ebay cause they are the wrong part for your car.

I don't know where you got all this from but it's really mixed up. The fact that most auto shops misuse these terms doen't help.

Injectors are typically high or low impedance catagorized by the DC resistance of their coil.
Injector drivers are typically saturated switch or peak and hold. Again, 4G63 DSM ECUs use a saturated switch on both Turbo and Non-Turbo ECUs. The resisitor pack on the firewall is used to limit the current to avoid burning out the injector drivers. The Non-Turbo 4G63s don't have or need the resistor pack since their high impedance injectors self limit the current to what the drivers can handle.

Real Peak and Hold drivers don't need the resistor pack, they hit the low impedance injector with full battery voltage and then current limit it after the initial spike to hold the injector open.

So JNZTRBO, if those 550s are really high impedance injectors you can just bypass the resistor pack to use them. I don't think the turbo ECU injector snubber circuit mind.
They won't perform quite as well as low impedance 550s since they will be slower opening and closing.
