How to Get the Rubber on My Balljoint

I made the mistake of purchasing one of those balljoints that comes with the rubber boot seperate. You press the ball joint in and then install the rubber from the other side.

My problem is, I can't get the rubber to fit around the diameter. Are there any tricks to getting that stupid rubber boot to fit on.

Replacing the driver side balljoint has been hell. The passenger side front I got a garage to do 2months ago, shoulda had them do both.

Erm.... the grease seal goes on, and then the balljoint is pressed in.

The rubber fits around the large diameter the same as the snap ring. Putting the rubber on first would be like trying to press the ball joint through with the snap ring on. It definately will not fit through the control arm with the rubber on.

The boot looks like you just pull it down over the joint, but I don't want to damage it.
