Toronto,
I just got my custom downpipe a few days back.
Ill be adding the front o2 sensor and a sensor for my wideband.

Just wanted to know how far should the 02 sensor and the wideband sensor be from the exhaust side of the turbo??

Thanks
-Rick

anyplace before your cat and about 6" after your turbo.

anyplace in there will be fine.

If you have a cat, then it must be placed before the cat. If you have removed the cat some place after the downpipe would be best. Further from the turbo = less over temp. alarms. I've got mine about halfway between the downpipe and the muffler, I didn't want to cut my Apex'i down pipe. This worked out great and I was able to run the wire up through the seat belt hole in the back seat. When I'm not using it, I can just push it back down under the seat.

my buddy and i were discussing where he was going to put his o2 sensor for his wide band the other day. hes got a megan racing 95-99 awd downpipe and we were thinking about putting it in the hole where the rear o2 sensor is. what do you guys think? i know the further back you go the less accurate reading your going to get but i was thinking that some dyno places just put it on the back of the exhaust system and tune from there.

thanks
david

Most wideband manufacturers agree that 36" is good. However I disagree with the statement above that further back would be less accurate. As long as your not to close to your tail pipe, because it can be affected by the outside air if your sensor isn't up far enough.

IF you have a test pipe instead of a cat, you can put in where the second o2 hole is. If you have a cat, you can't put it there.

And 6" from the turbo is not correct, 36" is recommended, further back won't change the accuracy of the reading as long as it is before the cat (if you have a cat).
