How do you get good MPG?

Sorry if this has been brought up but I'm on my phone and its really hard to use the search function. My laptop broke :/

I'm going to be commuting to school every day (102 miles a day). So I'm wondering what mods I can use (safely), mintenance, etc. to get the mpg as good as it gets. I know you can turn your boost down but is there a minimum safe level for boost or procedures you have to take before doing so?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Just be careful. Lower rpm= lower oil pressure.

What does that have to do with anything? At any given RPM the motor is pumping enough oil with enough pressure to protect all moving parts, regardless of what gear you are in.

Sometimes I wonder how some of you guys get better gas mileage than the vehicle was actually getting advertized to be getting from the manufacturer???

That amazes me too, but my volvo is capable of 35 mpg, but its rated 25 hwy or something around that. There highway tests must be uphill.

under 2k rpm it's not full oil pressure, but lugging it in high gear produces full load on the bearings. That's why I see alot more spun rod bearings on manuals.
