I want to keep my factory Infinty system and add an aftermarket sub. Is this easily done? What would I need besides the amp and sub.

I'd recommend just getting a self-amplified sub instead of f**king with the stock amp, which Mitsu made a little beotch to try to hook any aftermarket stuff up to......are you looking for the BOOOOOOM neighborhood-shaking kinda sub?? or just a sub for clear, good bass???

If u like the present stock amp dont do it! itll roast it, also unless ur runnin "funky pup" subwoofers there not even goin to be gettin a workout!, if u dont want to buy an aftermaket cd player, and ur worried cause ur stock one doesent have Rca's ur in luck, radio shack sells this ghetto thing that taps into ur speaker wire, and runs to an aftermaket amp and displays the signal therefore making it possible for people to have a subwoofer with the rest of there stock system..LOL

OK,

You need to get a converter that takes siganal from one of your rear speakes (high Input), that converts the Low from your amp. RCA's from amp plug into one side and splice from stock speaker is screwed into other side. This can be purchased at a car stereo shop. If you need exact names, etc. write again and I'll get more specific. I ran an Infitiy perfect sub and separate amp to power it, with stock head unit for a long time, only upgraded for better head unit. This just means if you hook it up to right rear, the sub will not be heard if balance turned to left, etc.

hope this helps.

That part I need, is it the same one at Radio Shack? I get everything up until now. But a question about the amp, isn't there a wire (blue I believe) that connects to something to tell the amp to turn on?

yes u can run it to the back of the factory head unit or i ahve a friend who wired it into his fuse box :( still this procedure is ghetto i suggest u buy a head unit

I just like the look of my double din infinity system. I did have a aftermarket motorized head unit, but that head is just too much. The factory one matches the orange guages and its basically factory equipment.

Blue wire is remote power, allows amp to go on and off with the HU. Connect to wire from HU.
