I have dsmlink, i tuned it for little beat, and dont know how good :coy: . Thing that i like on dsmlink is antilag system.
when is on and i'm reving, flame goes out of my muffler .... :rocks: which is cool, everybody likes to se that. I'm little concered about this, with the flame there is a lot of noise, backfire or whatever it is , which make me feel that my engine is gonna blow ..... Any advices about antilag would be great from you guys..... :thumb:

one more thing, how , where to learn more about tuning airflow and timing, i think i'm ok with fuel. Soon i'll get wideband and that shoud be good enough to set up fuel, but airflow and timing is very unknown for me. Hopefully one day i'll stop sound like a :coy: newbeeee

Anti-lag is a system in DSMlink, and other EMSs, that retards ignition timing, usually locking it at 8-10 degrees, and adding in fuel, normally 30-45%. This creates a delayed combustion that travels through the turbine housing and spools the turbo. You can get a very large turbo to build boost on the line with this feature. It is not harmful to the motor but can be hell on a turbo and turbine wheel if engaged for to long or to often. If you have an EGT gauge, take a look at it next time you bring it up on the anti-lag, its not unusual to see 1800+* F.

It won't kill the engine, but if you're not careful, it will ruin your turbo. The way most anti-lag systems work is that when you slam the trottle shut, in order to keep the turbo spinning, the timing is retarded to the point that you have combustion occuring on the exhaust stroke. What that means is that instead of spitting out hot exhaust gasses (which there wouldn't be a lot of since you have the throttle shut) it spits out a nice hot cup of combustion, which keeps the turbine blades spinning. This is very hard on the turbo since you have explosions instead of just hot exhaust gasses hitting the turbine wheels. Use this anti-lag feature carefully and don't go reckless with it, otherwise you'll be spending your money soon on a new turbo after the old one eats its exhaust wheel.

the correct term for that is a "mis-fire system", used alot in rally, and yes..it can kill your turbo in like less than a year. I would advise you to turn it off asap.

have movie too, but i dont know how to show you guys

It might ruin the turbo quickly if you are using it on a daily basis at every stoplight, but most people don't do that. I only use it when I am getting into a little street fun or at the track, keep it on, you didn't go through all the trouble of hooking it up just to turn it off, right?

What exactly are you using the anti-lag system FOR? So far your post has indicated that it's "to look cool". Also, you're scaring the shit out of me; airflow-based tuning in DSMLink is by far easier than tuning with the fuel or timing sliders. You need to read the DSMLink forums a little more. There's a big thread on how to get started here.

an anti-lag system wont help you at the drag track and stuff, its for races that involves turns. So unless by track you mean autoX then you shouldnt need it on.

Why wouldn't it help at the drag track?? The way I understand it, it can be used to spool a big turbo on the line.

Read: stutterbox.

From DSMLINK.com:

Antilag2 Provides a drag-style antilag system for spooling those large turbos at the line and during shifts.

Yea.. I hear that anti lag is for those big turbo's that take a long time to spool. And I also hear its for keeping a turbo spooled in wrc-type races... In my opinion, I would rather use the stutterbox for a larger turbo at the track.. I know I'm getting a MSD-2 when I get my bigger turbo! :thumb:

you really really don't need an antilag system on a 16g. Unless of course you're waiting for the 16g to die so you can buy a new one.
