The GameFaqs board has been doing something like this for years with the other GT games. What I want to do is basically set up a racing season. We will have as many people as want to play, but you must sign up before the season starts. What we will do is pick a certain number of tracks to race on and a certain car or certain class of car. Level of modification will be decided later. At each track, every person will try and get their absolute fastest lap there. One single lap. Once the time limit (which we will set) is up, I will post everyone's times. To keep it fair, I won't be playing and everyone who is entered will email me their lap time. You may be asked to verify your lap time if you are beating everyone by a lot or are consistently winning. Based on what rank you are in, you will get points which will be added up and a champion will be declared at the end of the season. Everyone start making their suggestions and signing up. Name some tracks you will want to have and how many races per season. I'd like to have Nurburgring be the final race of the season. And also start naming off some cars you want to drive. I'm thinking GVR4, any EVO, or the GST.

I suggest we get a choice of car... like any 4G63 and/or DSM car... if you agree of course

I'm open to all suggestions. As long as everyone agrees with them.

supra?

i wouldnt really consider using a 4g63 unless its the evo....
please no elise... i got a motorsport one with 200 hp and compared to my other cars its slow as balls.

i guess supra could work, but the RZs appear so rarely in the used showroom that it would take days for us to get one.

I will do it if you can have a EVO modded any way you like...

just make it a EVO only race... that way there is at least 20 different EVO's you can pick from

I think technical race's like the one where you win the TSC rally raid car, I think its called capri? what is it called anyone know?

My Elise 111r has 277 hp weighs about 1500 pounds and it runs 10's.... since when is that too slow?

Make one a 4wd race one a RWD race but no fwd races though, fwd is stupid.

Elise 111R is fast, I got mine with 315hp. I just beat British GT in European events where I had to go against XJ220's.

How about we set up a leauge using Xlinx Evolution?

If you'll come over to my house and set up the Xlink for me, then OK. Otherwise ... No, since i cant figure out how to set it up for the life of me.

I'm down.

I think a STI vs. EVO where we have two teams would be cool. That way everyone is competing with everyone and also teams competing. I will be on the STI team since I don't have an EVO.

That's actually a pretty good idea. Is anyone else down?

I think to keep it close, we should use the EVO VIII GSR and the STI (not c spec). Let's make a list.

So does it have to be online or not?

I'm down for it but I don't have lan access for my ps2

Nope. Email me your time (so no one can see what you got and say they got a second or two ahead of you) and I'll put up the times when everyone is done.

Once people start signing up I'll lay out the exact rules, develop the points system, the season schedule, etc.

im jumping in on the evo team

btw, can the cars be modded ? :thumb:

well since we are talking team races. instead of having just a evo and sti, why not a couple different teams with say three or so cars, 1 of em being about 300-400hp, second being between 500-600hp and the 3rd no limit. OR, just have a couple different teams, with a limit on cars, so you could end up having a team of sti's, a team of evo's, a team of elises for us elise guys, LOL. Obviously there would have be some type of salary cap tho, so that way noone has a 1000hp supra or so competing agains 400hp cars. i think that would be more interesting than just sti's and evo's....just a thought

I think we should keep the first round as simple as possible until everyone gets a feel for it. How about we say any production car, max of 600hp, and we need a minimum weight. Or we could just do a range of hp-to-weight (what's a good range?). No nitrous. How about no R class tires to make it interesting?

We can still have teams. How will we decide the teams tho? I can draw them out of a hat once we get enough people to sign up or we can have one team leader and a draft lottery.

well if we want to keep it simple, why dont we just decide on a limit that you can spend, for example, 100k. so you have a 100k to pick a car mod and tune, maybe even a little less money than that. When you get into weight and everything that causes too much confusion, i think the best way is just a spending limit. any car you want, awd, fwd, rwd,etc...na, turbo, s/c....but like you said no nitrous. i think its much more of a challenge to race slower cars, (300hp or so) than the 750hp monsters. I mean, i have a bout 40 cars with 600+hp but i use my 331hp elise for just about any race....puts the fun factor up there a lot more :thumb:

why can't you just put a cap on the horsepower and let them choose any car they want. It would be much easier like that. If you seperate everything into classes by weight, hp, rwd, awd, etc... then it will be more confusing IMO. just name one course per week, put a cap on the hp and let'em go for it. maybe later after you get the bugs out you can start to get creative with teams and different hp levals and specific cars(maybe as extra bonus points :thumb: ) the more simple it is the more fun people will have.

The problem with only a hp restriction is that some people will have a car that weighs 2000lbs while someone else has one that's 3000lbs. There's a big difference in performance there. If we use hp-to-weight ratio, people can choose if they want a powerful but poor handling car or if they want a car that handles great but loses on the straights.

Lets just make it even MORE simple, and keep it to STi's and Evo's, NO MODS at all, the only thing allowed would be modifying the traction and stability control settings. I think it would be silly to allow people to choose their own car, too much of the skill would go into car selection, that defeats the purpose of seeing who really is the fastest.
