Hey guys so I just rebuilt my motor and it will be installed on Monday but today (Friday) I hooked up the battery just to, ya know turn some lights on and make sure everything works but not one thing illuminated, no power to anything at all. OCV is 12.52DCV and had tight connections on both terminals. Now since the positive battery goes to (A) the starter and (B) the fuse box, shouldn't I get some type of accessory to work even though the entire wire loom is disconnected? Am I missing something or what, whats your input?? Thanks Guys

If the engine is out of the car, there`s no ground path, therefore nothing will work. connect the the engine end of the neg. cable to the body somewhere securely, & check it again . . . :talon:

Yup, missed that. The grounding strap goes to the fire wall and to (what is) the transmission. you can just ground it to the chassis somewhere for testing.

Also when doing that, I forgot to mention - insulate the starter end of the pos. cable with tape or something, & don`t let it touch the body anywhere when the batt. is connected or you have a light show & some blown fuses . . . :talon:

sorry to bring this topic up. but im in the same boat. only thing is my motor is out and tranny is out. is there anyway to turn accessory on without motor? neg cable to chassis and the positive somewhere else?

closed: found the fusebox positive cable. hooked it up and accessorys turned on.
