Greetings, my buddy has just picked up a new gt45 for his ford diesel, the thing looks totally huge and I was wondering if anyone knew where to get compressor maps or anything to see if something like that might work in our cars? It has a plate that says type t4 part number gt45 y2084k they did not include any information with it really except:
100% Brand New. Never been Tried or Installed.
Inlet (Exducer/Hot Side) T-4 Flange 70.1mm x 82.55mm (2.76" x3.25").
A/R 1.05 Exducer
A/R 0.66 Compressor
Cooling/Lubrication Oil
Outlet (exducer/hot side) 4.25" V-Band
Inlet (compressor/cold side) Ø 109mm (4.25")
Outlet (compressor/cold side) Ø 86mm (3.38")
Compressor major diameter Ø 98 mm
1 Year Warranty
and here are a few pics attached.

i'm putting together my 2.4l stroker but haven't bought the turbo yet so just wondering what everyone thinks, thanks!

It would work with our cars, long as you have the correct exhaust manifiold flange, and o2 housing flange, its a t4 compressor housing, but with that ar you can expect a slow spool on a 2.0, in any case this would be a turbo for people not consernd with spending most of their time above 7k rpm's, and arn't worried about low end spool time, its pretty deisel of a turbo, just wonder if it would have fit ment issues. No doubt in my mind you would have to run puller style fans. Also on a side note the garrett gt42R is larger then this turbo. Also I doubt they have compressor maps available for turbo's of this perportion.

Toss on a 50 shot if you want that thing to spool before 7k rpms.

I didnt mean it wouldnt spool before 7k rpm, it probably spools aroung 4600 or so...or a little higher on a 2.0, a stroker engine would help it spool quicker. The reson I said "in any case this would be a turbo for people not consernd with spending most of their time above 7k rpm's, and arn't worried about low end spool time" was because it would be laggy, and this would be a great turbo if you want to breath in the 7k-10k rpm range, this is where that turbo shines.

Unless I'm reading those numbers wrong, that thing is bigger than a T67. I have a turbo that size on my 2.4L, and it spools at 6k and takes alot to spool.

When you say spool now Im thinking you mean fully spool? Am I correct in this thought? If so then 6k rpm to be fully spooled sounds right. Of course I doubt anyone with a turbo this size is ever below 6k...unless they are like shep, and drive it on the street once and a while:p, also Im guessing that HKS gt45 takes ages to spool fully on a 2.0, unlike a large displacement deisel that its used on.

Yeah, I mean full spool at 6k. Also, even with a 2.4 I have to run the gear before to 9k and shift fast to get spool, otherwise it takes forever. I dont really take my car to the track, its a street only car.

;)

You'd be better off with a GT35 variant and a 50 shot - it'll be alot more fun than that monster you have right there.

Gotcha. I beleieve his buddy bought that for his deisel truck. Oh yeah XakEp, your mod list to your car is very nice. Ill be going a 2.3L stroker and a GT35R, and a set of stroker cams with a lobe of 104, like the FP 3s.
