Hi. I bought an HKS BOV witht he dejon intercooler piping. I bought it off someone locally and he didnt have the install kit. So im attempting to install it without the kit. I changed the vacuum hosing to the right size so thats done. and I went to home depot and bought a plastic plug to block up the recirculation tube. What else do I need to do.

My car sounds like it is leaking an extremely large amount of air or just not getting enough air whenever I give it more than half throttle. Just wondering what else I need to do to get this thing to work thanks!

My car is a 1998 GST

never mind just read that you have a GM MAS...

make sure the BOV to pipe connection is RTV'ed...some people get away without doing this---personally I couldn't with my type S. Do a boost leak test, and finally, make sure the 2 hoses below the recirculation hole are connected. Are you tuned to run without recirculation?

It lists a GM MAF in his mods. Anyway, just to check the simple stuff - is there an o-ring in the flange and is it in good shape? Is the C-clip fully seated in the flange? Is it evenly sunken in under the lip of the flange? If the C clip was bent during installation it could also cause it to leak.

oh I didn't look at that. Oops ... but it also says he has a greddy type s.

no no i have a gm maf on the way but its not on my car i am running stock maf with hks blow off valve venting. I finally got the pressure to stay but now i am getting too much pressure I took off down the road and my boost pressure read 30 psi on a stock turbo is this possible. I was spinnin tires all the way till 3rd gear and my intercooler piping blew off. Any one might know why the pressure is spiking up that high or at least why the guage is reading that way. I dont have a boost controller yet, but my psi before i put on the bov was at 14 psi.

correct T-25 are infamous for BOOST CREEP and can handle this for a short time but life span is very short. solution and the only one for T-25, take turbo off and port wastgate hole check www.vfaq.com for exact instructions. and yes venting to atmosphere is bad w/o a MAFT and GM blow through check for info http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89260. thats probably what your feeling as you say power loss. i myself ran recently high thirteens on stock turbo w/ boost creep w/no boost controller but i am dealing with the problem of reliability. now it has no power and pretty sure it will die on me soon. chose your path wisely but remember learning is the key to knowledge and we try to help as much as possible. have fun and be safe.

Even if you had no "install" kit.

The BOV should have come with a Snap ring(C-clip) and an O-ring. If you didn't have the C-clip I don't know you got it to even stay in the flange, if it didn't have an O-ring that's why you may be leaking air.

my guesses are he ment recic. kit as the kit he didn't recieve because without the clips he wouldn't build boost enough to creep and it would fall on its face everytime he applies the gas pedal.

ok thanks for the info guys. It finally turned out that my intake recirculation tube had a whole in it so i plugged it up and as for the severe boost creep, i guess it was the wastegate, because i put a manual boost controller on there and it fixed everything for the most part. I actually lose boost now which is fine with me, I run 18 psi and it slowly decreases down to 14 throughout the rpms, im guessing its just a normal thing.
