I am new to the external gate system and Tial doesn't send a whole lot of info with this wastegate. From what I can decipher from the rough diagram they send I think #1 vacuum port is T-ed off the pressure source from the manifold and #2 is the line off my MBC is this right? Do I use both or only one? I have seen many pics with only one of these hooked up.

From what I understand if you are using an MBC you only need to run the pressure line to the side port and leave the top port alone. When using an EBC both fittings are used to help keep the wastegate closed until the very last second and to fluctuate between open and closed rapidly.

That is one configuration, yes. But does anyone realize that EBCs work with actuator type wastegates as well? This being the case, set the EBC up as if it is operating an actuator, and just connect it to the side nipple. I had mine set up with my AVC-R using both at first, and saw no difference whatsoever over just using the side hose barb. Could not work better.
